About

Policy work rooted in the public record, not the press release.

I'm a public policy analyst and consultant. My work sits at the intersection of analysis, development, and advocacy — helping the people and organizations I work with take positions that hold up under scrutiny.

Background

I came into policy work through advocacy, not the other way around — starting with issues I cared about personally and learning, case by case, what it actually takes to move a position from a grievance into something a committee will act on.

Over more than nine years, that's grown into a practice that spans research and analysis, drafting policy positions and briefs, and representing those positions directly — in parliamentary submissions, in the press, and in the rooms where the decisions actually happen.

I work with institutions, coalitions, and individuals who need a position that can survive contact with people who disagree with it. That means being honest about where the evidence is strong and where it isn't — credibility is the whole product.

How I Work

Evidence first

A position is only as strong as what it's built on. I don't take on advocacy work I can't back with real analysis.

Plain language

Committees, editors, and the public all deserve writing that says what it means. No jargon standing in for judgment.

Independence

I'll tell a client when their position doesn't hold up. That's more useful to them than agreement.

Follow-through

A submission or a letter is a starting point, not an endpoint. I stay engaged through the process it's part of.

If you're working through a policy question, I'd like to hear about it.
