A virtual session of the ParlAmericas Young Women in Leadership (YWiL) Network, held June 11, 2025, on gender-based violence in the Caribbean.
Tajna Lee Shields took part as a member of the Network’s Jamaica cohort, speaking to opportunities for action and advocacy and to strategies for inclusive data collection. The session — convened with UN Women Caribbean and Caribbean Women in Leadership — covered intersecting forms of violence and emerging technological harms, including cyber-harassment, online grooming, and AI-generated explicit content, and how entrenched gender norms and systemic inequality continue to slow progress.
